1. Who is responsible
Responsible for the processing of personal data on this website (controller within the meaning of the GDPR):
- Minimal Bar
- Owner: Bastian Krabbe
- Rigaer Straße 31
- 10247 Berlin, Germany
- Phone: +49 (0) 163 7829166
- E-mail: basti@minimal.berlin
If you have any question about your data or want to exercise one of your rights, an e-mail to this address is enough.
2. Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted by IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Str. 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany. Whenever a page is opened, the web server automatically processes the IP address of your device, date and time of the request, the address of the page requested, the page you came from (referrer) and the browser and operating system you use.
This is technically necessary to deliver the site to you and to keep it stable and secure; that is our legitimate interest (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). IONOS processes the data on our behalf (Art. 28 GDPR). We do not combine it with other data and do not use it to identify you.
3. Dates, line-ups and artist photos
The dates, line-ups, artist photos and biographies shown here come from our booking database. It is operated for us by Supabase, Inc., 970 Toa Payoh North #07-04, Singapore 318992, on servers in the European Union (Ireland).
So that you always see the current programme, your browser requests these contents directly from that database when you open a page. Your IP address is transmitted in the process, as with any request on the internet. Legal basis is our legitimate interest in an up-to-date presentation of our programme (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). Supabase processes the data on our behalf (Art. 28 GDPR).
Some artist photos are the artists' own profile pictures on SoundCloud. They are not stored with us but loaded directly from SoundCloud's image servers (sndcdn.com) when a page shows them; your IP address is transmitted to SoundCloud (SoundCloud Global Limited & Co. KG, Rheinsberger Str. 76/77, 10115 Berlin, Germany) in the process. No cookies are set for this. Legal basis is our legitimate interest in presenting the artists with their own pictures (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).
4. Reservation and hire requests
If you send us a reservation request or a request to hire the bar, we process what you enter in the form: kind of request and occasion, date, time, number of guests, your name, your e-mail address and, if you provide them, your phone number and your message.
We use this data only to handle your request and to get back to you. Legal basis is the performance of pre-contractual measures at your request (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR).
The request is stored in our booking database (Supabase, see section 3) and forwarded to us by e-mail. For sending that e-mail we use the service Resend (Plus Five Five, Inc., 2261 Market Street #5039, San Francisco, CA 94114, USA), which processes the data on our behalf; the transfer to the USA is based on the EU standard contractual clauses (Art. 46 GDPR).
You also receive an automatic e-mail telling you that your request has arrived. It is sent from our own mailbox, to the address you entered.
We delete requests once they have been dealt with and the date has passed, unless statutory retention periods require us to keep them longer.
5. DJ submissions
If you send us your SoundCloud through the form on the DJs page, we process your artist name, the link to your SoundCloud profile, your e-mail address and, if you provide them, your Instagram name and your message.
We use this data only to listen to your music and, if it fits, to contact you about playing at Minimal. Legal basis is the performance of pre-contractual measures at your request (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR). The submission is stored in our booking database (Supabase, see section 3), and you receive an automatic e-mail from our own mailbox telling you that it has arrived. We delete it when you ask us to, or when we no longer consider a booking.
If you play at Minimal, we publish your artist name, photo, short biography and SoundCloud link on this website and on event platforms to announce the night, as agreed with you when the date is booked.
6. Music: the SoundCloud player
We do not host any music ourselves. The sets you can play on this site are streamed exclusively through SoundCloud's official embedded player, directly from SoundCloud's servers and from the SoundCloud profile of the respective artist. The provider is SoundCloud Global Limited & Co. KG, Rheinsberger Str. 76/77, 10115 Berlin, Germany.
The player is not loaded when you merely visit our pages (only some artist photos come from SoundCloud's image servers, see section 3). Only once you have allowed SoundCloud, in the cookie banner or in the note shown the first time you press play, does your browser connect to SoundCloud. From then on the player is loaded together with every page that offers a set, so that the music starts the moment you press play, and SoundCloud receives your IP address, information about your browser and device and the page from which the player was started, learns which sets you listen to, and may store cookies or similar information on your device. If you are logged in to SoundCloud, it can assign the playback to your account. We have no influence on this processing and receive no personal data from SoundCloud about you.
Legal basis is your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR, § 25 (1) TDDDG). You can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future under “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page; the player is then stopped and no longer loaded. SoundCloud's privacy policy: soundcloud.com/pages/privacy
The volume you set in the player is remembered in your browser (local storage) so that you don't have to set it again. It never leaves your device.
7. Map: Google Maps
To show you where to find us, we can display a map from Google Maps. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
The map is only loaded after you have allowed it, in the cookie banner or with the “Load map” button in its place. Your browser then connects to Google's servers; Google receives your IP address and information about your browser and device and may set cookies. Data may also be processed by Google LLC in the USA; Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
Legal basis is your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR, § 25 (1) TDDDG), which you can withdraw at any time under “Cookie settings”. Without it you can still open our location in Google Maps through a normal link. Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy
8. Visitor statistics: Google Analytics
If you agree, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used: which pages are opened, roughly where visitors come from and with what kind of device. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
Google Analytics is only loaded after you have allowed it in the cookie banner. It then sets cookies (_ga and _ga_<ID>, valid for up to two years) and processes usage data such as pages viewed, time of the visit, approximate location, browser and device information. We also record what is done on the site: which links and buttons are clicked, which sets are started, paused or played to the end, and that a reservation request or a DJ submission was sent, with the kind of request, date, time and number of guests, but never your name, e-mail address, phone number or message. In Google Analytics 4 IP addresses are not logged or stored. Data may also be processed by Google LLC in the USA; Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
Legal basis is your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR, § 25 (1) TDDDG). You can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future under “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page; analytics is then switched off and its cookies are deleted. More information: policies.google.com/privacy
9. Cookies and local storage
This website itself sets no cookies. It stores two small entries in your browser's local storage, both of which stay on your device:
- minimal:consent: your choice in the cookie banner, so that we don't have to ask on every visit. Kept until you change it or clear your browser data.
- minimal:player-volume: the volume you set in the music player.
Both are necessary for functions you have asked for and need no consent (§ 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG). Cookies and comparable storage by SoundCloud, Google Maps and Google Analytics only come into play after you have allowed these services (see the sections above).
The fonts of this site are delivered from our own server; no connection to a font provider is made.
10. Links to other websites
We link to our profiles and events on other platforms, for example Resident Advisor, Instagram, Rausgegangen, Qrush, Gästeliste030, Eventfrog and Google Maps, and to our own and the artists' SoundCloud profiles. These are plain links: data reaches those providers only when you click one, and their own privacy policies then apply.
11. Your rights
You have the right to:
- obtain information about the data we process about you (Art. 15 GDPR),
- have incorrect data corrected (Art. 16 GDPR),
- have your data erased (Art. 17 GDPR) or its processing restricted (Art. 18 GDPR),
- receive the data you gave us in a portable format (Art. 20 GDPR),
- object to processing that is based on our legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR),
- withdraw a consent you have given at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7 (3) GDPR).
To do so, write to basti@minimal.berlin.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for us is the Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit, Alt-Moabit 59-61, 10555 Berlin, datenschutz-berlin.de
12. Security, no automated decisions
This site is delivered exclusively over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and so is everything you send through its forms. We do not use automated decision-making or profiling.
